Faculty Positions in Regenerative and Aging Biology
MDIBL is undergoing a period of rapid growth and development. We are recruiting outstanding scientists at the assistant, associate, and full professor levels. Successful applicants will have research programs focused broadly on regenerative and aging biology; will be addressing significant questions in these areas at an integrative level using state-of-the-art genomic, genetic, and molecular approaches; and will be utilizing non-mammalian model organisms including genetically tractable species such as C. elegans and zebrafish. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, have a strong record of continuous research productivity, and have either active funding or clearly demonstrated potential for funding.
MDIBL provides a uniquely collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment, outstanding scientific resources, and at least 80% protected time for development and maintenance of independent, externally funded faculty research programs. Start-up packages and salary are highly competitive and commensurate with current rank and experience. Successful candidates will have appointments in the Davis Center for Regenerative Biology and Medicine and adjunct appointments at neighboring academic research institutions.
Please include a cover letter, vitae, detailed research and career development plans, and the names and addresses of four references. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. Apply here.

Postdoctoral Fellows / Research Assistant Professors
Postdoctoral fellow / research assistant professor positions are
available immediately at MDIBL
for scientists with a broad interest in the integrative biology of ion
channel function/regulation and cellular stress response mechanisms. Our
laboratory utilizes a multidisciplinary approach including patch clamp
electrophysiology, quantitative cellular imaging, molecular biology,
protein chemistry, computer modeling, reverse and forward genetic
analysis, and cell genomic and proteomic profiling to investigate ClC
ion channel regulation, osmotic stress signaling and protein damage and
repair mechanisms in the genetically tractable model organism C.
elegans. Possible projects include:
• Molecular/structural mechanisms of phosphorylation-dependent ClC anion
channel gating and regulation
• Genetic and molecular characterization of osmosensitive signaling cascades
• Mechanisms of osmotic stress induced protein damage and repair
Candidates should have or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. in physiology or
a related discipline. Please send your curriculum vitae and the names
and addresses of three references to
