Located on Salisbury Cove within Bar Harbor, Maine, The Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory is surrounded by Acadia National Park. Mountains, ocean, forests, lakes, and trails abound. The National Park has over 120 miles of hiking trails, 60 miles of carriage paths, numerous beaches, lakes and ponds. The College of the Atlantic and The Jackson Laboratory are six miles away, and the University of Maine, Orono is within commuting distance.
