A Northeast Regional Meeting of IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)
and Centers for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), will be held at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory in Salisbury Cove, Maine, on Sunday, July 17 and
Monday, July 18, 2005.
The meeting will include both Principal Investigators and research scientists from all COBREs and INBREs in the Northeast region
including the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Delaware. This meeting will contain both scientific and administrative sessions, and will provide attendees multiple opportunities for informal discussion with each other and with NCRR staff.

TRAVEL, PARKING
AND HOTELS
Flights: The closest airports to the Laboratory are Bar Harbor Regional (BHB) and
Bangor International (BGR). Bar Harbor is ~15 min away from the Laboratory by car. Bangor is ~1.25 hr away from the Laboratory by car.
Ground Transportation: Taxi and rental car agencies are available at both airports. Public transportation
is available on the Island Explorer bus system from Bar Harbor airport, and between the hotels and the Laboratory.
Driving Directions: Are available here. MDI Biological Laboratory is located on Old Bar Harbor Road in the village of Salisbury Cove, 04672. Old Bar Harbor Road is a left hand turn approaching from Ellsworth on Rt. 3 (approximately 4 miles from the bridge at the head of Mount Desert Island).
Parking: Parking is free at the Laboratory. Guests may park alongside Old Bar Harbor Road, in the grassy field across
from the Conference Center, or in the paved lots adjacent to the Conference Center and Dining Hall.
Housing: Rooms have been blocked at the following hotels. You must make your hotel
reservation by June 17, 30 days prior to the meeting.
