Thousands of students have conducted research at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory since its founding. If you are an MDIBL alum, we need to hear from you! Perhaps you did research here as an undergraduate or graduate student, were here as a postdoc, took a short course, or even participated in the high school research program. If so, you are part of an important and worldwide network of MDIBL alumni, and we are delighted to reconnect with former students.

Alumni Events
As you know, special events—lectures, symposia, picnics, and more—are an integral part of the MDIBL summer experience. Alumni are welcome to attend any and all of these events. They can provide a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with other alumni, your mentor, or to simply stay current on the happenings of the lab. As Ann Epstein so eloquently put it: "'Up-in-Maine' is a state of mind that travels, and let's us all travel back, again and again." Please join us. We would love to see you!
Visiting the Laboratory
Alumni are welcome to visit the Laboratory at any time. We hope you will return to visit a mentor or share the Laboratory with your friends and family. This special place is open to alumni year-round. Please let us know when you are coming and we will arrange a special tour of our new facilities.
